"Members helping members since 1981"

The Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois (JGSI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping members collect, preserve, and perpetuate the records and history of their ancestors. We serve as a resource for the worldwide community to research their Chicago area Jewish roots.

We conduct monthly meetings with speakers on a wide range of topics. We provide access to research materials in our library, publish a newsletter - Morasha - maintain an online searchable death index.
